The Cercle des Arts de Charlevoix will host the holiday “market”

CHARLEVOIX – The Cercle des arts de Charlevoix will soon open its annual “MARKÉ” offering buyers the chance to buy local products and support local artists.

The market opens this Friday, November 19 and, according to Circle of Arts staff, it has grown to offer even more arts, crafts and holiday gifts from about 20 different artists from the area.

“We are really excited for this year because she has definitely grown and this year we have a lot of new participating artists,” said administrative assistant Erika Kilkenny.

The market features local artists and artisans and their handmade items, original artwork, and special holiday treats.

This year’s market will feature everything from holiday ornaments and traditional jewelry and artwork to various bath and body items or home decor.

“All of the participants are local,” Kilkenny said. “They are all from Emmet, Charlevoix or Antrim (counties) and we have a really good mix of articles this year that people can check out.”

The Circle of Arts is eager to open the market and give locals a place to enjoy and buy holiday gifts while supporting many local artists.

“Shopping at the market is a great way to support local artists and creators as well as your local community art center,” said Executive Director Sarah Matye.

“The dollars spent go directly to the artists who make the items purchased, and a small commission goes to the Cercle des arts de Charlevoix to support the operational costs of the market, such as personnel, heating and electricity for the building,” said she declared.

Everyone is invited and welcome to shop at the Cercle des Arts de Charlevoix holiday market after it opens on Friday.

The market will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday to Thursday, December 30.
