Opening of a wood and metal exhibition at the Cercle des arts de Charlevoix

CHARLEVOIX — The Cercle des arts de Charlevoix announces its next winter exhibition: Wood + Metal: contemporary art meets functionality.

The exhibition will run from January 28 to February 26, with many exhibiting artists present to talk about their work at the opening reception on Friday, January 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is welcome and there is no cost. to participate.

Featured artists include Laura Earle from Farmington Hills, Dawson Moore from Harbor Springs, Paul Rytlewski from Bay City and Richard Small from Bloomfield Hills and Charlevoix.

“We have selected Michigan artists who each have a unique take on wood and metal craftsmanship and each bring a different form of functional art to showcase,” said Laura Kelly, Charlevoix Circle Exhibit Coordinator. of Arts. “The works of the four featured artists will be remarkable on their own, and will work collectively to create an interconnected and cohesive exhibition.”

Sculptural and functional pieces such as tables, chairs, benches, light fixtures, bowls, kitchen and bar utensils – all using wood and metal as support – will be on display. The public is invited to view this art exhibition, made possible through the sponsorship support of DCL, Inc.

The Cercle des Arts de Charlevoix is ​​open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located at 109 Clinton Street in downtown Charlevoix.
